1. Create a hidden credentials file in the root directory, vi .smbcred
2. Enter a user, password, and domain if applicable.
3. Enter the following in fstab:
a. IP address or hostname/share
b. mount point
c. file system type, which will be cifs
d. options, security type and credentials file path must be included
e. 0 <tab> 0, indicates the file system will not be backed up by the dump utility or checked by fsck
