Power Up procedure:

  1. Connect all power cables to storage servers and JBODs according to the hardware documentation.

  2. Power up existing JBODs first. Depending on the Genesis RX (GRX) revision, connecting the power cables might be enough. On other generations, the power button in the front must be pressed. Please check your HW documentation.

  3. Power up the GRX storage server. After a few minutes, an attached monitor will show a “genesis login:” prompt, indicating the system has fully booted.

  4. Navigate to the Web-UI ( http://your-ip/ ) and check if the system is ready for use. If the GRX displays the message ”The system is temporarily unavailable” for a long time, contact Scale Logic support.

  5. Attempt to mount the storage from the client(s), such as with the HyperFS client. If the clients were booted before the storage, you may need to reboot them.

    Power Down procedure:

  6. Stop all client activities, check that the storage is not in use anymore.
