CaraOne in one sentence
CaraOne is the world’s first on-prem AI media assistant for post-production — it watches and understands your media, then lets your team find, explore, and assemble it using everyday language, entirely on your own infrastructure with no internet connection required.
What it does
CaraOne indexes your footage into a vector database and generates browsable proxies, then surfaces that intelligence through a standalone application. From there your team can:
- Search by meaning — find clips by concept, emotion, spoken topic, or visual element across video, audio, images, and text.
- Edit predictively — get AI-suggested shot continuations and alternate timelines.
- Build stories automatically — surface the narratives inside interviews and create short-form pieces fast.
- Ask questions — query your media conversationally and get instant topics and summaries.
- Send to your editor — export to Avid, Premiere, and Resolve, or push clips straight into Premiere.
Key features
Intuitive Search
Next-generation semantic search locates assets through everyday language rather than rigid keywords — by concept, emotion, or visual element, and by the meaning of spoken audio. Smart metadata filters (resolution, FPS, aspect ratio, and more) narrow results fast, even across billions of indexed items.
Custom Face Recognition
Build your own face-search database in seconds — add a few reference images and CaraOne finds every appearance automatically.
Predictive Editing
CaraOne analyzes camera movement, subject focus, color temperature, and other visual cues to suggest possible next shots, helping you rapidly build rough cuts and alternate timelines. Swap shots, drag and drop, and share proposed edits with your team.
Automated Storytelling (Soundbites)
Analyzes audio transcripts to uncover the key stories and themes in your media, suggests relevant topics, and surfaces the most impactful interview moments — ideal for assembling short-form and social pieces quickly.
Ask CaraOne
A chatbot for your media: ask questions and get answers drawn from the audio transcript, with Topics and Summarize tools to get to know footage and research the relevant parts at a glance.
Magic Wand
When filtering by folders, the Magic Wand highlights cinematic visuals and noteworthy sound moments, sparking instant editorial ideas.
Finetuning & languages
CaraOne ships with broad world knowledge; for specialized industries or archives, the AI/ML team can fine-tune the models on your data. It currently supports English, Spanish, and German but understands many more languages via understanding the transcript.
BackOffice administration
A built-in dashboard lets administrators monitor job and service status, start/stop/restart services, run diagnostics, and manage users and teams from one place.
Construction Kit (API)
CaraOne’s API lets integrators automate workflows and build custom features on top of the engine. Programmatic access is available to partners under a Scale Logic agreement.
Editing-tool integration
CaraOne supports .aaf, .xml, and .edl exports — working with Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere, FCPX, and DaVinci Resolve — plus a direct Premiere integration that sends a selected clip and its media straight into Premiere bins.
How it’s deployed
CaraOne is delivered by Scale Logic as a turnkey, on-prem server appliance — there is nothing for you to install. Its miniaturized proprietary models run entirely on the CaraOne hardware:
- Secure & private — runs fully on-prem, with no internet connection required.
- Infinitely scalable — each node watches media at up to 21x real time, scaling linearly as nodes are added.
- Your models — you own the AI running on your content, brought to you and supported by CaraOne.
- Multi-site — operates as a single intelligent system across sites, balancing load and self-healing.
Who it’s for
Broadcast and television, reality TV, films, studios and creative agencies, news, large media archives and libraries, government, universities and schools, post-production houses, houses of worship, retailers, and corporate media departemnts.
