On the NX and ZXs there should be 2-4 on board network ports grouped together and another network port by itself away from the group. The network port that is by itself is the dedicated IPMI port. By default they will be at IP address 192.168.0.129 unless marked otherwise. The easiest way to change the IP address is to log into the IPMI through a web browser as TECH:Genes!sSL1 on a laptop or computer nearby. Make sure the computer you are using to log in is on the 192.168.0 subnet.

Under the Configuration menu, select network. Change the IP address, subnet mask, gateway, and DNS server if applicable. You can also choose to obtain an address from a DHCP server.

Scroll down the page and verify “Failover is selected for the LAN interface.

Then scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on “Save”.

You will lose contact with the IPMI.

You should be able to put the dedicated IPMI port on your network and connect to it through the IP you entered earlier. If eth0 is connected to the network, you can also connect through it since the IPMI is shared over it.
