19.6 Group Management

The Groups Management section allows you to create and manage groups of tape volumes.

  • Groups are a Collection of Tape Volumes used to easily group content based on the customer's criteria possibilities can include:
    • Customer's Client Names (In the event in the future a client needs only their content.)
    • Projects - Such as a TV / Movie Series
    • Dates
  • ADD NEW GROUP

  • Group Name:
    • Add a Group Name
  • Read Priority: 
    • Priority from 1-100
    • The lower the priority number the more urgent the job is.
  • Write Priority:
    • Priority from 1-100
    • The lower the priority number the more urgent the job is.
  • Read Limit:
    • 1-10
    • The number of jobs in the running queue. This allows other jobs to come into the queue after this number is met.
  • Write Limit:

    • You should have 4 or so pre-formatted tapes in the Auto Group so if a Group is empty it can pull from here and keep running.
  • Changer:
    • Which change this Group is associated to.

  • Name: 
    • This is the Group Name.
    • This is what is selected when you add Tape Volumes to a Group.
  • Total Capacity:
    • This is the Total Capacity of all the Tape Volumes in the Group currently.
  • % left:
    • This is how much space is collectively remaining in the Tape Group.
  • Read Priority:
    • Priority from 0-100

    • This is a Check box, check the box if you want SF Archive to automatically add a new Tape Volume if the Group runs out of Tapes.
  • Changer:
    • This is what Changer is associated to this Group.
    • The Changer is signified by number which can be found in the Changers tab.
  • (Button) Volume Information:
    • Gives information on the Tape Volumes in the Group.

    • Allow the user to add specific Tape Volumes to the Group.

    • Use with Caution, this Deletes a Tape Group.
