19.4 Drives Management Screen

The Drives Management section allows you to view and manage tape drives connected to the SF Archive system.

  • Drives are added Automatically if a drive is found on the SCSI bus.
  • Drives can be added manually by running the NxScsi command. 
    • /usr/share/SFS/bin/NxScsi/NxScsi
  • Drive Details
    • Drive Name
    • Map
    • State: 
      • If a Drive is Enabled or Disabled (OFFLINE/ONLINE)
    • Inquiry: 
      • This is the Drive type
    • Serial Number of each Drive
    • In Changer: 
      • This tells you which Change the drive is for.
    • Loaded Volume: 
      • This tells you what tape is currently in a drive or if the drive is empty.
    • Used By:
    • Mounted:
      • This tells you that the Tape is physically mounted on the SFS server as a drive.
    • Mount Point:
      • This is the mount point where you can access the drive from if needed outside the SFS software - when it is mounted to the Server.
    • Button on Far Right:
      • This is an eject button to allow a user to eject the currently mounted tape volume from the Drive.
